Welcome to Hiram Productions, and thank you for stopping by. I was born and raised in northeastern Pennsylvania and spent my childhood on a working farm raising animals and watching my artist mother create various oil paintings. In November 1996, I moved to Santa Cruz, California, where I’d enjoyed the vast central coast lifestyle, nature, and weather.
In the mid-1960s, my parents owned a hand-held 35mm color video recorder; I have fond memories of growing up in front of that camera. We cherished many family footage memories, from which my love for photography began to grow.

How I Started
Fast forward to the 1970s, my brother had a Canon, which I was extremely fascinated by and spent countless days and nights tinkering with it. Learning about different lightings, lenses, frames, and angles became a hobby, and one I was particularly good at. At the tender age of eight, it was my interest in art that pushed me beyond my limits, and I went on to visit a photography darkroom to learn more about production and creation!
Putting my knowledge and experience to the test, in 2016, we rented an RV to capture the lunar eclipse in Idaho Falls, and the results were the fruit of my years of learning.
I studied photography intensely and attended various lighting and photography classes. I still remember learning, watching endless videos to understand all the photography gear and technical skills required. My first ever professional photography session was photographing university graduates, and it’s only been upward and onward since then!
